About Us - History

Hungry Generation Youth Group started in 2001. The first years were difficult because we had two youth pastors who came and left. After that, Pastor Vasiliy (pastor of the Good News Church) entrusted Vladimir Savchuk with the youth. About 5-10 kids met every Thursday in the children's room at the Desert Streams Church. They desired to reach their city but didn't know how. They had youth rallies, spread thousands of flyers, went out witnessing and holding banners all over the city, but none of it produced any lasting fruit.

One night Vladimir was watching Tommy Tenney (GodChasers) on TV; he was talking about hunger and thirst for God. That night Vladimir was inspired to call their youth: Hungry Generation.

In 2005, Elijah Waters (a youth pastor from another church) introduced us to the G12 vision. We started to see many people come to Jesus and be connected through the cell groups. Even though we don't consider ourselves a G12 church, we do practice the main principles of encounters, follow up, discipleship, small groups and etc.

And now our youth group has never been the same. We have been learning through teaching, reading and praying. We hope that you will joing us in doing so that we may see a new generation arise
